The Mumbai carnage can be described as Rakshasa Kreeda (devil’s play) in one word. Media interference in the activity of Police, Army and NSG commandoes was outrageous and I cannot understand how they were permitted near the scene. The world press has ridiculed our operation. T he worst part is the visit of filmmaker Ramgopal Varma along with the Chief Minister of Maharashtra and his son. How callously this man acted without any respect to the victims. Strong action should be taken against the media and Varma. S.L.N. Murthy,
Srinagar Colony Don’t test the patience of IndiansThe Mumbai carnage is a wake-up call for the people of the country to decide how better they want to lead their lives. The insensitive statements of politicians of all hues in the midst of such a tragedy is deplorable. Show me a country where after such a big human tragedy politicians have the guts to make such humiliating remarks. Are we living in a Democracy? The politicians are worse than the Britishers who ruled us for over 250 years. Because we have immense patience and forgive everyone and attribute everything to our ‘karma’ with a spiritual bent of mind, everyone seems to take the people of India for granted. If we lose control, politicians and the terrorists will have to see the dark and ugly side of the people of India. Uma Kameswari, L.B. Nagar Letters should be cleared regularlyThe post-boxes put up at Vijayanagar Colony post-office, both local and other places have boards showing the next clearance as 4 p.m. at all times. This way it means letters posted after 4 p.m. would remain uncleared for almost one day which needs to be improved upon in the interest of the slogan “Help us serve you better”. Seshagiri Row Karry, Mehdipatnam Strong alliance to weed out corruption neededPraja Rajyam has come forward to render social justice to the people of the State by promising corruption-free governance. All the other parties are stated to be not above corruption as they ruled the State and the Centre. Like Praja Rajyam, Lok Satta Party is also on the same agenda. But Lok Satta has no strong roots despite its founder being well versed in political affairs. It is therefore advised that Praja Rajyam should strengthen its hand in alliance with LS and vice versa. N. Ramalakshmi,
