TIRUNELVELI: District Crime Branch police have arrested three persons for issuing death threat to a retired Provident Fund Commissioner after allegedly encroaching upon his land near here. Police said Arun Joseph and Joseph Ignatius, sons of M. Joseph Pushpam (62), a retired Provident Fund Commissioner of Maharaja Nagar in Palayamkottai, had purchased 49.75 acres of land at Munneerpallam near Palayamkottai. The land was managed by Mr. Pushpam. However, the land was illegally occupied by S. Mani alias Subramani of Tharuvai, N. Sivanupandi of Ilanthaikulam and P. Thangapandi of Ramaiyanpatti. They allegedly issued death threat to Mr. Pushpam. Based on direction from Superintendent of Police Asra Garg, the District Crime Branch police filed a case and arrested the trio.
