This Day That Age
The first economic conference of Afro-Asian countries began its four-day deliberations in Cairo on December 8 to devise means for economic, technical and financial collaboration among them. Forty countries of the region, including India and Nepal, are attending the conference. Dr. Abdul Moneim el Kaissouni, United Arab Republic Minister for Economy, who opened the conference on behalf of President Nasser, said “it is beyond the capacity of any one of our nations to realise by itself the objective of raising their standard and hence we all feel the urgent need for solidarity and co-operation.”
