Children steal the show

HYDERABAD: More than 350 projects prepared by students from kindergarten to Class IX were displayed at the two-day science fair organised by the Brilliant Grammar High School, Habsiguda, on November 28 and 29.

A model of Chandrayan, India’s moon expedition, was the highlight of the event. Automatic streetlight was one more exhibit that enthralled the visitors. The fair included awareness projects on subjects such as HIV, cancer, global warming etc.

It also had exhibits pertaining to languages apart from science. Models of Gulliver’s Travels, charts of phonetics, Bhuvanavijayam, and Krishnaleelalu were part of the language section.

Gitanjali Devshala School

Gitanjali Devshala School celebrated the World Disabled Day on December 3 on a different note, with an objective of integrating children with special needs with the mainstream. Rekha Sekhri, a psychologist from NIMH attended as the chief guest and spoke about the theme of the year ‘Dignity, Equality, and Justice’.

Tattoo bar, block printing, hurdle race quiz, and musical chairs were part of the celebrations.

D.A.V. Public School

A variety of cultural programmes marked the 21st annual day of the D.A.V. Public School on December 6. Vice- Chancellor of the JNTUC D. Narasimha Reddy attended as the chief guest. ‘Amma’, the dance ballet and instrumental music by Sai Krishna enthralled the audience.

Nasr School

Discipline and sportsmanship formed the core of the Sports Day of Nasr School, Khairatabad, on December 5. Vinod Sancheti, father of the Sports Captain attended as the chief guest and declared the meet open. March Past by the five houses Amethyst, Emerald, Ruby, Sapphire and Topaz was followed by the Tambourine Drill by the high school, the Flower and Bee Drill by the primary school and the Cocktail Drill by the junior school.

Biscuit races, Red Indian race, and Bicycle race by the pre-primary section enthralled the audience.

Athletics, karate and yoga were notable among the many events performed on the day. Old Students Race and Ayahs and Drivers Race had attention of everyone.

Sister Nivedita School

It was the Sports Day for Sister Nivedita School too at GHMC Grounds of Ameerpet on December 5. Homage was paid to the victims of Mumbai carnage by observing a few moments of silence and releasing pigeons.

March Past was followed by a variety of track events and drills. Winners were awarded gold and silver medals by the school management. Release of school newsletter ‘Nivedita’ followed.
