Separate team sought

PUDUCHERRY: Member of Parliament M. Ramadass has appealed to the Union government to depute a separate team to assess rain-damage in the Puducherry and Karaikal regions. In a letter to Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram, he said that while the Centre sent a team to Tamil Nadu to assess the damage, it was not done in the case of Puducherry. The territorial administration had already submitted a detailed report to the Centre seeking assistance to the tune of Rs. 114.9 crore to compensate the loss to the rain-affected families.
