VISAKHAPATNAM: Vizagites, especially music lovers, are in for some musical treat as L. Subramaniam, K. Siva Prasad and M. Balamuralikrishna will be performing in the city from December 13 to 15. Four music academies, Sri Vijaya Thyagaraja Sangeetha Sabha, Visakha Music Academy, Visakha Music and Dance Academy and Andhra Music Academy have come together to celebrate the birth centenary of violin maestro Dwaram Narasinga Rao Naidu. Giving the details here on Wednesday at a press meet, the convenor of the celebrations committee S. Vijay Kumar said that a three-day music festival from December 13 would be organised at the Port Kalavani Auditorium. While violin maestro Dr. Subramaniam will render a concert on December 13, whistle wizard K. Siva Prasad will perform on Dec. 14 and Dr. Balamuralikrishna will give a Carnatic vocal concert on Dec. 15. The concerts will begin at 6 p.m. everyday. Co-convenor of the committee G.R.K. Prasad said that a special interaction session with Dr. Subramaniam for school children and music teachers has been arranged on December 14 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at the auditorium. The Joint Secretary of Andhra Music Academy G. Prabhakar said that a special photography and painting exhibition highlighting the history of classical music in India would be hosted during all the three days at the venue.
