Two drown in Tungabhadra

HAMPI: Two youths meet a watery grave in the Tungabhadra here on Wednesday.

Maqbul and Rahim were part of a 15-member team who had come from Guntakal in Andhra Pradesh to visit Hampi.

According to the police, three youths from the team had gone to answer nature call when one of them fell into the river.

The second youth who tried to save him, also fell into river and drowned. The third youth came back and informed others about the incident.

The incident was in no way connected the ‘Pushkar’ festivities that began at Hampi.
