KATHMANDU: The former Prime Minister and Rastriya Janasakti Party chairman, Surya Bahadur Thapa, has said the country’s democratic parties should unite to form a democratic force. “Democracy is weakening in the country. Establishing a democratic force would be the only alternative to save it,” he said. The idea to form a democratic force was earlier raised by Nepali Congress president Girija Prasad Koirala. Mr. Thapa said the “democratic force” should include parties like the Nepali Congress, Rastriya Prajatantra Party and Rastriya Prajatantra Party Nepal. Meanwhile, the CPN (UML)’s former general secretary Madhav Kumar Nepal, has said Mr. Prachanda should not be “threatening to pull out from the government”. Separately, the government on Thursday held talks with an armed outfit based in the Terai.
