Elected for ninth consecutive year

VISAKHAPATNAM: U. Eswar Rao created a record in the 100 years history of South Eastern Railway Employees’ Cooperative Credit Society Ltd., more popular as Urban Bank, when he was elected as its Vice-Chairman for the ninth consecutive year, at the annual general body meeting of the bank held at Kolkata recently.

The bank was established in 1909 and became the No.1 cooperative bank in Asia, with the centenary celebrations also organized on a grand scale in Kolkata, followed by the AGM.

General secretary of East Coast Railway Shramik Union Ch. Gandhi, divisional coordinator of Waltair Division D. Shaleel and all the directors of the urban bank congratulated Mr. Eswara Rao under whose stewardship the bank flourished with a net profit of Rs.5.65 crores last year.
