Financial woes drive man to suicide
Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD: Reportedly caught in a debt trap, an embroidery worker Moinuddin, 42, ended his life by hanging in his house at DVM Colony of Sanathnagar on Thursday, the police said.
Moinuddin was alone in his house in the morning after sending out his wife Ameena Begum, 32, to hand over clothes to a client and son Shaik Amjad, 15, to make phone calls to another customer. On return, they found his body hanging to the ceiling fan. His wife alleged that debts and failing health depressed her husband.
He secured loans ranging from Rs. 1,000 to Rs. 3,000 from local small-time financiers but failed to repay the amounts. As the financiers frequently visited his house and pressurised him to clear their dues, he further got dejected and resorted to the extreme step, the Sanathnagar Inspector A. Balakoti said.
