Man injured in clash dies

Staff Correspondent

Davangere: Buden Sabh (40), who had sustained serious injuries in a clash between people of two communities at Malalkere village in Bada police station limits, succumbed to injuries on Thursday night.

A few days ago, there was a clash between two communities when a boy of one community teased a girl of another community. The police had rushed to the spot and dispersed the mob engaged in the group clash.

A little later, a gang comprising about twenty persons allegedly attacked Buden Sab and other four persons with iron rods. All the five suffered serious injuries and had been shifted to hospital for treatment.

A case was registered at the Hadadi Police Station and 18 persons were arrested in this connection.

Meanwhile, relatives of the deceased staged a dharna in front of the mortuary demanding action against the people who had “committed the murder”.

Many women and prominent leaders of the community, including Syed Saifulla, Chaman Sab and Koli Ibrahim took part in the agitation.
