‘PAC will meet again on Yellampalli project’
Staff Reporter
It will look into the corruption allegations of Rs.359 crores
Tuni (East Godavari): Public Accounts Committee (PAC) Chairman Yanamala Ramakrishnudu has said that the committee would meet on December 15 and 16 and look into the corruption allegations of Rs.359 crores in construction of Yellampalli Project.
Speaking to reporters here on Friday, he said the committee will study all the complaints by opposition parties, news appeared in newspapers and taken them as suo moto.
He took strong objection over appointing ruling party member (Kanumuri Bapiraju) as PAC Chairman on absence of him and described it as unconstitutional.
He said for the first time that Congress party has introduced this type of tradition and it has violated all norms and ethics of legislature.
He recalled that PAC has asked Yellampalli project files several times and it failed to compile the report, which resulted PAC in preparing final report. Moreover, the information sought by PAC was not supplied properly by the government and it shows that the same government might not give full details to Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) also.
