YSR lashes out at Naidu

Special Correspondent

VIZIANAGARAM: Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy termed as publicity stunt the criticism of the State Government by Telugu Desam president N. Chandrababu Naidu during the opposition parties’ Maha dharna in Delhi on Thursday seeking Centre to make Maharashtra to stop construction of Babli and 11 other projects on the Godavari, as a publicity stunt.

“For nine years he was Chief Minister and has not taken up any issue.

He’s also termed agriculture as a waste but now says he is fighting for the cause of farmers.

He does not behave like a former Chief Minister”, Dr. Reddy said during a brief chat with reporters before leaving for Visakhapatnam.

Legal battle

His Government had not neglected the State’s right and apart from launching a legal battle on Babli and other projects, a representation was submitted to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh asking him to protect the interests of Andhra Pradesh, the Chief Minister said.

Dr. Reddy who came here on Thursday night to attend the marriage reception of younger brother of Housing Minister Botcha Satyanarayana, stayed at the R and B guest house overnight and left for Visakhapatnam after breakfast at the residence of local MLA Kolagatla Veerabhadraswami.
