Demand for separate railway zone

VISAKHAPATNAM: The Uttarandhra Rakshana Vedika leaders demanded on Monday creation of a separate railway zone with Visakhapatnam as Headquarters and setting up of Railway Recruitment Board in Visakhapatnam . They said that the contention of Railway authorities that a separate zone in Visakhapatnam was ‘not feasible’ due to technical reasons does not hold much water.

They recalled that a railway zone was set up at ‘Hazipur’ in Bihar though it was earlier declined on ‘technical’ grounds.
