YSR flayed for lack of progress on Pranahita

Staff Reporter

SANGAREDDY: Telangana Rashtra Samiti legislator T. Harish Rao on Tuesday alleged that Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy has been cheating people of the region by a laying number of foundation stones for Pranahita –Chevella irrigation project.

“Had any one in the past laid so many stones for one single project? Is it nothing but hoodwinking. How can the government justify releasing only Rs. 250 crore in the budget for the Rs. 55,000 crore project?” asked Harish Rao.

Speaking to reporters here, he alleged that Dr. Rajasekhara Reddy was not committed towards development of Telangana. He compared the ongoing works of Pothireddypadu head regulator with that of projects in the Telangana region.

Review meet

Coming down heavily on district in-charge Minister Ponnala Laksmaiah, the TRS legislator asked why the Minister failed to hold the district review committee meeting. Mr. Harish Rao said that the power crisis has been fast approaching and it was estimated that Siddipet constituency alone needs about 80 transformers. He demanded that DRC should discuss the issue.
