Send SMS, solve complaints

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The State Bank of Travancore has launched an initiative called ‘SBT Care’ for its customers.

It can be invoked by sending an SMS to 98471 98471 which will be received at the complaints cell at the bank’s head office in Thiruvananthapuram.

Complaint desk

The ‘complaint desk’ will then call back the customer to know more about the grievance. The details are indexed and kept open until it is resolved fully. The bank has already in place channels like ‘complaint boxes’ at every branch, e-mail, web-based facilities for lodging complaints, toll free infoline No. 1800 425 5566 and NRE help desk for answering domestic and NRE customer queries.

While officially launching the ‘SBT Care’, Suma Varma, banking Ombudsman for Kerala and Lakshadweep, stressed the need for transparency, fairness and credibility in dealing with customer complaints.
