Pundits stage dharna at Vizianagaram

VIZIANAGARAM: Rashtriya Upadhyaya Pundit Parishad, A.P. Upadhyaya Sangam and A.P. Teachers’ Federation on Wednesday staged a dharna at the Collector’s office demanding that language pundit posts be upgraded to school assistants (languages) as they had not been getting promotion for the last 24 years. Parishad district president B. Tirupathi Rao, State secretary B. Govinda Naidu, State APUS honorary president U.A. Narasimham and others participated.

Telugu Desam Party district president Y. Ramana Murty visited the dharna camp and expressed solidarity with the agitating teachers.
