Ramadoss opposes cocktail party

CHENNAI: Pattali Makkal Katchi leader S. Ramadoss has objected to the cocktail party being organised in connection with PAN IIT-2008 in Chennai alleging that it would ultimately “convert college campuses into unlicensed bars during festivals.”

In a statement issued here on Wednesday, Dr. Ramadoss demanded action against those who were in charge of the celebrations. Citing reports that the Research Park which had been selected as the venue for the cocktails on December 19 and 20, Dr. Ramadoss said the 12 acre land for the park was allotted by the government only with the hope that it would promote research and create entrepreneurs for rural areas. — Special Correspondent
