The cancellation of the Indian cricket team’s tour to Pakistan was expected. With the memory of the Mumbai attacks still fresh in our minds, how can we send our team to a country whose nationals were responsible for the bloodbath? We cannot imperil the lives of our players. Yet the government’s decision to cancel the cricket tour has shattered the dreams of cricket enthusiasts. More than security, bringing more pressure on Pakistan to act against terror appears to be the motive behind the cancellation.
