Defensive measures

The article “Defensive measures alone won’t suffice” (Dec. 20) is right in saying that our defensive mechanisms can have only limited utility against an invisible enemy. Our people are in no mood to listen to plausible excuses from the men at the helm.

No amount of debate in Parliament to settle political scores or pass laws to plug the loopholes will help avoid the recurrence of terror attacks. We need a strong political will and unity among political parties.
