Ramanujan birth anniversary
Nalanda Degree College organised celebrations of 122 birth anniversary of Srinivasa Ramanujan here on Monday. On the occasion, Andhra Loyola College, Mathematics Department head K. M. Sastry said that many of the discoveries Ramanujan were still used in different fields across the globe. Ramanujan was one of the mathematical geniuses of the country and led a simple life like Einstein. Ramanujan could not pass Fellow of Arts as he had least interest in other subjects. The then Nellore district Collector Rao Bahadur Ramchandra Rao identified the talent of Ramanujan while the latter was working at Madras port as a clerk, he recalled.
