IFFCO shows the way on eco safety

Paradip: To make its environment safety mechanism foolproof, fertiliser giant IFFCO has launched a series of pollution control measures and safety norms for its manufacturing plant here.

IFFCO’s Paradip unit that has successfully withstood the current global economic meltdown has emerged as an environment-friendly fertilizer plant, Executive Director of the plant M R Patel told reporters here.

Based on the environment performance and track-record of past years, Orissa Pollution Control Board has accorded consent order for next five years, he said.

The house committee of the State Assembly has inspected the plant sites and peripheral areas and said the plant was in operation with near-zero emission. - PTI
