Green School initiative launched

PUDUCHERRY: The Green School initiative project was inaugurated at Nallavadu Government Middle School on December 19. The six-month project would be supported and guided by CPR Foundation, Chennai, and Environment Cell, Puducherry.

The teachers and students of the school were divided into several groups such as energy management, water management, paper bank, solid waste management, tree plantation, herbal plantation, birds watch, coastal club, turtle guards and biodiversity management, to carry out the project said a release.

Reports submitted

The group leaders submitted reports about their future activities. The students staged cultural programmes on the theme of environmental issues. Headmaster of the school K. Loganathan, National Green Corps in-charge teacher R. Ilanguirane, and teacher M. Pranavakeskar spoke on the occasion.
