Lucknow: An undertrial escaped from police custody while being taken to a court in Bareilly district, official sources said here on Tuesday. Mewaram, an undertrial lodged in Bareilly jail, fled after hoodwinking police personnel while being taken to the court on Monday, they said, adding an FIR was registered in this connection at Hafizganj police station.
