Award conferred posthumously on former dyers’ association president

Tirupur: The UK-based Society of Dyers and Colourists (SDC) conferred its ‘Lifetime achievement award’ posthumously on the former president of Dyers Association of Tirupur, N. Kandasamy, at a function here on Saturday.
Wife of Mr. Kandasamy received the citation and a silver medal accompanied with the award from the Member Secretary of Textile Committee of Union Ministry of Textiles, Pradeep Gupta, and the vice-president of SDC (India), Sanjiv Kamat, respectively.
Mr. Kamat said that the award was bestowed in recognition of the services Mr. Kandasamy did for the benefit of knitwear cluster of Tirupur which include establishment of eight Common Effluent Treatment Plants.
