Rail commuters urged not to waste water

Staff Reporter

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Railways have appealed to the commuters not to misuse water following complaints about non-availability of water in trains. Although the railway authorities ensure that water is filled in the trains at the designated watering points, it gets exhausted before the destination is reached. It has been found that pilgrims travelling in trains take bath in the train putting other commuters to hardship.

In important railway stations, pilgrims take bath by using water from the taps, which are provided to fill water in the coaches. The taps are then left open. The Railways have appealed to the commuters to use bathrooms at the railway stations.
