Focus on higher dose of health facilities

Special Correspondent

JAIPUR: Newly inducted Rajasthan Medical and Health Minister Aimaduddin Ahmed Khan on Tuesday said his department would render quality health care services to the people and function with sensitivity to the issues directly affecting the public health and hygiene.

Addressing the senior officers after assuming the charge of office here, Mr. Khan said the State Government would strengthen the health delivery mechanism by improving the condition of primary and community health centres functioning in the rural areas.

Mr. Khan asked the officers to ensure the availability of resources at all district hospitals to render timely services to patients.

“The difficulties likely in the implementation of various schemes and programmes should be thrashed out beforehand.”

The Minister said the nursing training institutions in the State should disclose all conditions of their courses at the time of admissions to avoid difficulties, such as charging of exorbitant fee, faced by students. The institutions in other States could be approached, if needed, to understand their style of functioning.

Principal Medical and Health Secretary R.K. Meena said steps had been taken to strengthen health care services in villages and arrangements made for availability of doctors. Special allowances are paid to doctors posted at the health centres situated at far-off places and in difficult terrains.

Medical Education Secretary Govind Sharma said seven Government and 15 private medical colleges and one dental college were presently functioning across the State.
