Khadi fete a huge draw

Thiruvananthapuram: The Khadi and Village Industries Fair organised by the Kerala Gandhi Smaraka Nidhi here in connection with Christmas has proved to be a big draw for the public.

Demonstration by artisans is a major attraction of the event, organised a the YMCA Hall here. A range of silk dress materials including printed saris, Pochampalli and embroidered saris, silk clothing for churidars and polytextiles are available at 20 per cent rebate offered by the government. Readymade jubas, shirts, churidars, bedsheets, cotton mattresses and pillows are also available at government rebate. Artefacts made of fibre and husk, ayurvedic products, wooden items, leather footwear, clay items, leather and paper bags are also on sale at the fair which concludes on December 25.
