HC to A.P.: stop ‘Bhoo Bharati’ aerial survey

Legal Correspondent

HYDERABAD: The division bench of the Andhra Pradesh High Court on Wednesday directed the State government not to go ahead with implementation of ‘Bhoo Bharati’ aerial survey for Nellore and Karimnagar districts.

These orders were passed on a writ petition filed by Captain L. Panduranga Reddy in public interest. He said that the InfoTech enterprises company was awarded the contract to prepare the land records after aerial survey even after the committee found that the company was not qualified to be given the contract. He lamented that after the judgment, Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy personally intervened to give the contract.
