BMS stages dharna

VISAKAHPATNAM: The district unit of Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh conducted a demonstration at the Collector’s office on Wednesday demanding the immediate merger of Hindustan Shipyard Ltd., in the Ministry of Defence.

BMS district president K. Bhavani Shankarudu said that the merger of HSL in the Ministry of Defence was pending for approval of the Cabinet since last four months. Various Parliamentary Committees of Ministry of Defence namely V.K.Malhotra, N.L. Pandey and Madanlal Khurana and also the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs had already recommended the merger of HSL in Defence Ministry, he pointed out.

He also urged the Collector to use his good offices immediately to initiate necessary action against the culprits who attacked violently the HSL union (BMS) office and also against the INTUC affiliated union members who allegedly attacked BMS workers on Saturday.
