HC stays implementation of Bhoo Bharati

Legal Correspondent

HYDERABAD: The Division Bench of the A.P. High Court comprising Chief Justice A.R. Dave and Justice R. Subhash Reddy on Wednesday directed the government not to go ahead with implementation of Bhoo Bharati aerial survey for Nellore and Karimnagar districts.

These orders were passed in a writ petition filed by Captain L. Panduranga Reddy in public interest. He said that the InfoTech Enterprises company was awarded the contract to prepare land records for aerial survey even after the committee found that the company was not qualified to be given the contract.

He said that the writ petition filed by InfoTech was dismissed and lamented that after the judgment, Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy personally intervened to award the contract. The Bench perused the papers and wanted the government to explain about the relaxation to InfoTech .
