Shanti Arts opens art gallery in Guntur

GUNTUR: An art gallery of international standards has finally arrived at Arundelpet right in its heart of Guntur -- Santi Arts Art Gallery is a reality now, a long felt need in the city that has good patronage of artistes and sculptors.

On Friday the first-ever art exhibition will commence in this mini-gallery of 1,000 square feet got up by the world renowned name in screen printing and advertisement solutions. “This is only a small window to our larger plan of developing the Santi Arts Highway Art Gallery near Chowdavaram on the NH-5 within next six months,” Santi Arts founder Paras Mal Jain told The Hindu.

Santi Arts, which specialises in producing replicas of some of the world’s best painting works on different mediums and conserving the cultural heritage of the country by producing some stunning ‘murals’ of temples, mosques, holy sites like Mecca, Tirumala and Sri Satrunjaya Teerth at Palitana in Gujarat.Considered the Mecca of Jains in India, this temple at Palitana on border with Rajasthan, is most enchanting site with 4,500 steps to be taken by pilgrims to reach the Teerth. All this has been done in an embossed mural of 8 feet by 4 feet board with frame, which is the key attraction at the Art Exhibition-cum-Sale of Murals and Real Gold Leaf Works to be inaugurated on Friday at 10 a.m. The exhibition would remain open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. till December 31, Mr. Jain said and about 70 different varieties of exhibits from Tanjore gold paintings to Ravi Varma’s enchanting Shakuntala will be on display and up for grabs. Prices ranging from Rs.300 per piece to a couple of lakhs for a large mural would be offered during this time.Individual artistes and sculptors could hold solo exhibitions at this gallery easily reachable by the people interested in art.
