dated December 27, 1958: Task before surgeons

Our surgeons have a great task in new India. They must always remember that the vast area of rural India also needs their services, says the Prime Minister, in a message to the 20th annual Conference of the Association of Surgeons in India opening at Visakhapatnam on December 26. The following is the text of the message: “I send my good wishes on the occasion of the annual conference of the Association of Surgeons in India at Visakhapatnam. Our surgeons have a great task in the New India that we are building. They must always remember that it is not only in the great cities and the big hospitals that their service is needed but in the vast area of rural India also.”
