‘Daily criticism’ not worth a damn
A media war among vernacular dailies surprised the readers as the criticism of each other through news items touched a new low. The dailies do not spare any effort in castigating each other and the content displayed on the front pages has indeed become topic of animated discussion among readers.
A serious reader, who could not tolerate what he termed as ‘sheer wastage’ of space on front pages, had a suggestion. Why not these dailies bring out a supplement just to carry criticism of their rivals? While those interested could read it, others could straight away dump it.
“At least, the front page space could be utilised for something useful,” he argued. Sounds like a sane advise. Ain’t it?
