Two workers buried alive in quarry

VIZIANAGARAM: Two persons – S. Simhachalam (27) and Dasari Parvathi (19) - were buried alive when earth caved in at a quarry near Sambara in Makkuva mandal on Friday.

Another labourer Rama Rao was injured and he was rushed to Salur Government Hospital.

The incident occurred while they were loading gravel into a tractor.

Gummadi Sandhya Rani, member of the State SC/ST Commission called on the bereaved families and consoled them, according to Makkuva Sub-Inspector Ch. Uma Maheswara Rao.
