BANGALORE: Saumya Padhye defeated Monisha Vinayak 21-14, 21-19 and claimed the women’s singles title in the Shree Sai Gold Palace State-ranking badminton championship at Bangalore City Institute courts here on Friday. In the men’s singles final, Mohit Kamath will meet S.D.S. Krishna. The results: Men: Singles semifinals: Mohit Kamath bt Abhijith Naimpally 22-20, 21-8; S.D.S. Krishna bt B.S. Phalgun 21-13, 21-11. Women: Singles final: Saumya Padhye bt Monisha Vinayak 21-14, 21-19. Senior women: singles (40 +) final: C.M. Kaveri bt Elsa Tommy 21-9, 21-17.
