Miraculous escape for workers

BANGALORE: The newly laid roof of a building under construction, coming up on land allegedly encroached upon a “Raja Kaluve” by a brother-in-law of former minister A. Krishnappa, collapsed at Seegehalli near Hoskote on Saturday. Six construction workers were injured while at least 15 had a miraculous escape.

The Hoskote police have filed a criminal case against Hemanth Kumar, a civil engineer and Mr. Krishnappa’s brother-in-law. Mr. Kumar is absconding. The incident occurred around 12.35 p.m. near M.G. Road in Seegehalli, which is attached to Bhattarahalli. The injured were identified as Murugesh, Dinesh, Chintu, Ganesh, Veerabhadra and Vijay Kumar, all in their mid-20s.
