VIZIANAGARAM: The two-day annual and parents’ day of Korukonda Sainik School that concluded on Saturday was celebrated here in a befitting manner. A number of parents attended the celebrations and enquired about their children’s performance with teachers. Commodore S.P. S. Bhatti, NM, Commanding Officer, INS Eksila, Visakhapatnam and Lt. Gen. K.R. Rao, Commandant and Colonel Commandant Regiment of Artillery, School of Artillery, Devlali, were the chief guests for the first and second day celebrations respectively. Capt (IN) P.K. Singh, Principal of the school welcomed the chief guests and also the parents. He presented the annual progress report of the school. The chief guests took salute and inspected march past by the school cadets. Earlier, they placed wreaths at the war memorial on the school premises. In his address, Commodore Bhatti called upon cadets to develop team spirit and also pay special attention towards developing virtues. Later, they gave away prizes to the winners of various events. The school Annual Athletic Championship Trophy for the year 2008-09 was bagged by Gupta House among the seniors and by the Vijayanth Squadron among the juniors.
