‘Ghajini’: pact violated, says KFCC
Bangalore: The Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) has said that Aamir Khan starrer Ghajini’s release in the State is in violation of an agreement that restricts the number prints of non-Kannada films which can be released at any given time. Chamber president Jayamala said while the norm is to release a maximum of 21 prints throughout the State for any non-Kannada film, 70 prints of Ghajini were released. “Some Kannada films which were running to packed houses, such as Haage Summane and Mast Maja Madi, were pulled out to accommodate Ghajini,” she said. Ghajini’s distributors had agreed to bring the number of releases to 21 and pay damages to the chamber for violating the norms, she said. — Special Correspondent
