Hoskote, Bidadi to get new bus stands

BANGALORE: The Transport Department has decided to construct bus stands in Hoskote and Bidadi at a cost of Rs. 4.70 crore and Rs. 3.5 crore respectively.

Minister for Transport R. Ashok told presspersons here on Saturday that a bus stand would be constructed in Chikmagalur at a cost of Rs. 3.50 crore. It had also been decided to build 50 bus stands in backward taluks of the State and 35 bus stands in Bangalore city. Expenditure details would be worked out soon, he said. The Government had released Rs. 700 crore to the Bangalore Development Authority and Rs. 600 crore to the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) for taking up roadworks. All roads in Bangalore would be repaired in two months, he said. — Special Correspondent
