Special Correspondent

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Senior Congress leader K. Karunakaran said here on Sunday said that the communities who enjoy reservation benefits should be thankful to Jawaharlal Nehru. Community leaders who make tall claims of their contribution should not forget Nehru’s role.

He was addressing the 124th anniversary of the Congress and the Seva Dal Foundation Day at the party headquarters.

Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee president Ramesh Chennithala, who presided over the function, said credit went to the Congress for India’s achievement in the post-Independence period. Mr. Karunakaran inaugurated the observance by signing on a map of India and cutting a cake. Senior leaders, KPCC and District Congress Committee (DCC) office-bearers attended the function.
