Bhupinder Singh Hooda CHANDIGARH: Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda announced on Sunday that a sum of Rs.10,000 per acre yearly would be given to those panchayats whose land would be acquired under the Mahatma Gandhi Grameen Basti Yojna for carving out 100-100 square yard plots to be given to the members belonging to Schedule Castes, Backward Class-A category and families living below the poverty line in the State. Addressing a rally at Baroda in Sonepat district to mark the 123rd foundation day of the Indian National Congress and extending New Year greetings to the people, Mr. Hooda announced that Baroda constituency would not henceforth remained neglected in all spheres of development as it had not got its full share in past for the developmental works. He reiterated that all the problems of the constituency would be redressed on priority basis. The Chief Minister announced that Rs.50 lakh would be given to every big village of Baroda constituency while Rs.25 lakh each would be given to small villages. Mr. Hooda reiterated that during the last 45 months his regime had initiated many new schemes for the welfare of all sections of the society and this had ushered in a new era of peace and development. Mr. Hooda reiterated that his regime had inherited the power problem from the previous governments and assured that the problem would be solved within next two and half years. He announced that a Bijli Rally would be held at Jharli on January 10 where he would lay the foundation stone of 1,320 MW Thermal Power Plant.
