CHANDIGARH: A sitting MLA from the Shiromani Akali Dal, Gurdeep Singh Bhullar, who represented the Nur Mahal constituency in Jalandhar district in the Punjab Assembly, died on Sunday morning. The 54-year-old leader is survived by his wife and two daughters. Mr. Bhullar who was found in an unconscious state in his room in the Punjab MLAs’ Hostel, was rushed to the Sector 16 Government Hospital, where doctors pronounced him “brought dead.” He had reached Chandigarh on Saturday evening. Mr. Bhullar is said to have been suffering from a liver disease for quite some time.
