‘Stimulus package will address garment exporters’ concern’

CHENNIAMALAI: The Union Government’s economic stimulus package, which is expected to be announced soon, will address the concerns of garment exporters, Union Minister of State for Textiles E.V.K.S. Elangovan has said.
Talking to The Hindu on the sidelines of a function organised at Sengulam village, near Ingur, he said the Government was aware of the exporters’ problems and that the economic stimulus package would take care of it.
In response to the first economic stimulus package, the exporters had said that they wanted greater relief with regard to packing credit and duty drawback.
He touched upon the United Progressive Alliance Government’s various development programmes, and said that through the Right to Information Act the Government had empowered the citizens.
