GVMC employees arrested

Hundreds of activists of GVMC Employees Union, affiliated to the CITU, were arrested while staging a dharna at the Corporation office, demanding implementation of the GO with regard to payment of minimum wages to sanitary workers, on Monday. There was jostling and pushing while agitated employees tried to break the strong police cordon and enter the Corporation hall where a general body meeting was going on.
