Collector’s directive to bankers on crop loans
Staff Reporter
ADILABAD: Collector Ahmad Nadeem on Monday asked bankers to complete the process of issuing crop loans to farmers by end of January.
The target for issue of crop loans during the current financial year was set at Rs. 397 crore of which only Rs. 277 crore had been disbursed so far, he said while reviewing the performance of banks.
At a special District Consultative Committee meeting, Mr. Nadeem asked the Agriculture Department to address the problems related to disbursal of special incentive under crop loan waiver scheme.
Eligibility certificates
He said some of the farmers could not avail the incentive given by the government because they were not being given proper eligibility certificates by the Agriculture Department officials.
Talking about bridge loans to beneficiaries of Indiramma housing, the Collector asked the bankers to issue loans in time to eligible families.
He set January end as the deadline for this.
Adilabad MP A. Indrakaran Reddy and MLA C. Ramchander Reddy also attended.
