Executive engineer’s house, office raided

Davangere: The Lokayukta police raided the house of Odo Gangappa, Executive Engineer of Upper Tunga Project, in Davangere and his office in Ranibennur, on Tuesday. According to sources, the Lokayukta seized cash and properties worth over Rs. 1 crore. The sources alleged that Odo Gangappa, who earlier served as Executive Engineer in Davangere Irrigation Department, owns 25 acres of land in Iguru and Vaddanahalli village. Mr. Gangappa owns three sites in Davangere and has credit of Rs. 10 lakh in his savings bank account and has Rs. 1 lakh fixed deposit.
The value of the house he is residing in is Rs. 30 lakh. However, the house is in the name of his father-in-law.
Besides all these assets, he has made two foreign trips. Sources added that he had kept all his documents with his auditor in Davangere. Sources also said that he had a declared income of Rs. 31 lakh.
