Congress to go it alone in Haryana

Special Correspondent

CHANDIGARH: All-India Congress Committee treasurer and in-charge of Haryana Congress affairs Motilal Vora on Tuesday said the party would contest the ensuing Lok Sabha elections in the State alone and there was no question of entering into any alliance whatsoever.

Talking to media persons after addressing a State executive meeting of the party here, Mr. Vora said the names of prospective candidates for Lok Sabha elections had been sought from the Haryana PCC. Regarding tickets for all sitting MPs and MLAs, he said the final decision would be taken by the party high command. He expressed confidence that on the basis of the elections held recently in six Vidhan Sabha Assemblies, the Congress would win the ensuing Lok Sabha elections and form the next government with the alliance partners at the Centre.
