Four killed in road accident in Coimbatore

Coimbatore: Four persons were killed and four others injured when the car in which they were travelling rammed a lorry from behind on the bypass road near Irugur on Tuesday.
The lorry driver, unaware of what had happened, drove his vehicle for nearly two kilometres, dragging the car. He stopped the lorry after drivers of passing vehicles alerted him.
The car was proceeding from Vadanapalli, near Thrissur, to Bangalore.
The deceased were identified as Samir Ibrahim, 23; Sabir Hamsa, 23; Arshad, 22; and Hadiq, 22.
The injured — Sadiq, 23; Riaz, 25; Ajeez, 20; and Asif, 25; — were admitted to the Kovai Medical Centre and Hospital.
