‘Beach party’ cancelled

HYDERABAD: The “beach party” that managed to create a lot of curiosity and anticipation among the metro crowd, youngsters in particular, has been called off. Following criticism from some quarters, the organisers announced their decision to cancel New Year celebrations at Fox Sagar Lake on Medchal Road.
“We are talking to other new year party organisers to accommodate those who have already booked their tickets with us,” said Vishal of ‘Blue Water Entertainers’, an entertainment company. At the same time, “we are also refunding their money where needed,” he clarified.
Mr. Vishal lamented that despite prior permissions from all government departments concerned, they were asked by the district administration to shelve the celebrations in the last minute.
The organisers are also exploring options to see if there was any possibility for the Danish-Indian fusion band ‘Bombay Rockers’ to play elsewhere. They are already en route to the city and we are making efforts to accommodate the band elsewhere, he added.
